This week has been about figuring out my workout groove. I love my am accountability group, I just don’t love mornings! I do notice that if I work-out in the morning at home then I tend to get more done the rest of the day. It does increase my energy and let’s me have more quality time with my son I the evening. Yet getting up at an hour that starts with 5, or even worse, 4, it’s just not my idea of fun.
Yet I am determined to get in at least 30 minutes a day. So two days this week I’ve switched things up and Visite die the gym between work and home. I also know this about myself, if I get home, it takes a lot to get me back out. So packing my clothes to go is a must. The bonus is there gym has childcare and my son loves to play there so I can pick him up after school and go straight there with no complaints.
Day one I caught a Power class, full body workouts with weights and risers. The hour class went super fast and it may become a staple in my week. It of course got me out of my introverted bubble and the instructor even complemented me on my form!
Today no class worked with my schedule so I hit the treadmill. My official half marathon training doesn’t start until the end of the month but I figured easing into it can’t hurt. I did 30 minutes with some run/walk intervals just to shake off the dust and test my foot that has given me some trouble this past year. I felt good and likely could have done more but I am determined not to go too hard too soon.
I’ll leave you with my run stats just to show we all start somewhere!
